Saying Goodbye

No matter how much I prepared myself for the day she would be gone I was not ready....no one was.  She would have been happy to see her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends come together to celebrate a life so beautifully lived.  My 16 year old cousin, Kesley, sang What a Wonderful World at her funeral as we reminisced over photos of an amazing  life lived by a movie-staresque woman that loved so much and gave everything she could to those around her.  Everyone was treated as if they were family in her house and not a tummy was left feeling hungry.  Those of us who were lucky enough to know Mimi have learned so much from her and have a lot to live up to.

A double saddle was fitting for Mimi although I think that saddles should be called blankets.

Each table at the reception hall had an azalea plant so friends and family could plant them at home and think of Mimi.

A sympathy arrangement.
