The Spirit of Giving

It is THAT time of year once again.....yes, it is crazy, overwhelming and as an adult it has lost some of its luster.  But, apart from being caught up in the hustle and bustle... and giving into the over-commercialized holiday, buying something for everyone you know, it is a time to pause and reflect on things we are thankful for.....set goals for the future, take note on things we have improved on and what needs work!  This year I have been especially moved by some of the local area organizations who are reaching out through different media outlets for help from the community during these tough times.  The Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services has an adopt a family holiday program.  I contacted the organizer last week and they still have around 90 families left to be adopted.

There is also the Chips for Kids Toy Drive with toy drive dates still left on December 15th and December 21st.  Click here for more information. These are just two local events and there are so many more out there.  Please share your favorite organization.  Making a donation on behalf of that person who has everything is a great gift idea!  Or instead of buying those new holiday shoes this year, choose to make one child's holiday a little brighter by donating a gift to a local organization!
